After many talks and experiences in roto and paint QC and handoffs, I’ve developed this QC tool at Pixomondo. This group node is sent to vendors and multiple departments around the world.
This tools is mainly build to present edge QC and basic premult operation overlays. It also presents a naming convention compatible to be extracted as depth / type / matte.
On execution, it sorts all the selected Layers to and grab the proper given information from the layers. The goal is for the submitting artist to submit the output of this node as a quality check while still containing the full untouched original alphas in the other EXR channels. This means the artist should write out ALL channels and not just RGBA to make sure to deliver all the matte packaged properly.
